For the past 17 years, Debra has dedicated her career to the night shift as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.  Debra values teamwork and cooperation, knowing that quality work thrives in a supportive environment.  In early March, Debra played a critical role in saving a patient’s life.  The patient was experiencing a gastrointestinal bleed and as lab results continued to trend in an unfavorable direction, it became clear that a transfusion would be required.  Complicating matters, the patient had a rare blood type, and staff had been informed that the necessary blood products would not be available until the next morning.  Recognizing the urgent need, Debra went above and beyond behind the scenes to secure delivery of compatible blood the same evening.  Throughout the process, she remained responsive and supportive, answering nursing’s questions every step of the way.  Her dedication and quick action made a life-saving difference.
