San Antonio Regional Hospital has been recognized with the 2024 Women's Choice Award® as one of America's Best Hospitals for Emergency Care. The Women's Choice Awards® are the only awards that identify the country's best healthcare institutions based on robust criteria that consider both clinical excellence and female patient satisfaction.

The Women's Choice Award® for Emergency Care signifies that San Antonio Regional Hospital is in the top 10% of 4,728 U.S. hospitals offering emergency services. The award recognizes excellence in emergency care based on several process of care measures focused on time patients spent in the emergency department, including: 1) total time spent in the emergency department; and 2) percent of emergency patients who left without being seen. Criteria also included the percentage of stroke patients who came to the emergency department with stroke symptoms who received brain scan results within 45 minutes of arrival. Also included were hospitals that performed well in responding to patients showing signs of severe sepsis, a very dangerous condition.
