My name is Dr. Syed Ahmed Rizvi. I'm the head of the Family Medicine Department at San Antonio Regional Hospital, and I also have my private practice here in La Puente.
What inspired me to become a physician was a family legacy. My family has a lot of doctors—my uncles, my grandparents. Additionally, growing up, I saw many people who needed a physician's help and understanding of their diseases. I was also inspired by the fact that this is, in my opinion, a very noble profession. Family is where I, you know, have centered my life, and after that, comes my profession and everything related to my kids. Recently, I had a patient whom I diagnosed with a very serious illness. Luckily, we caught it really early in the process, and we pretty much removed all the cancer from her body, and she is expected to live a full life. So, at the end of the day, it's really, really rewarding for me to help patients stop some terrible disease process even before it begins, or just at the beginning. I also help them adopt a healthy lifestyle so that they can fulfill all their dreams and achieve everything they want in life, and I give them all the happiness they deserve.
