In recognition of this commitment, San Antonio is among the elite group of hospitals in California to receive a Baby Friendly designation from the World Health Organization. This achievement recognizes that San Antonio goes beyond supporting breastfeeding during the hospital stay; its Healthy Beginnings Newborn Feeding Center continues to support new families after discharge with one-on-one counseling and support groups provided by internationally certified lactation educators and consultants.
