San Antonio Regional Hospital has an unwavering commitment to the hospital’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan, which focus on improving the region’s overall health by providing quality patient care in a compassionate and caring environment.  To this end, a Regional Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) was conducted in 2019 in collaboration with the Regional CHNA research team, consisting of the Hospital Association of Southern California’s (HASC) Community Benefit Stakeholders Committee, and HC2 Strategies, to identify health-related needs.  Following the collection and analysis of extensive secondary data, primary data was collected to validate the findings of the secondary data research. Throughout the primary research process, San Antonio engaged residents, stakeholders, agencies, organizations, and members of Healthy Cities to provide feedback about the most pressing health issues facing our community. Firsthand accounts from local residents were collected through focus groups, key informant interviews, and an online survey.
